A very nice way to end the weekdays.Somehow and someway,I do like this week eventhough I was extremely embarrassed due to something. And I was a super klutz this week.
Library with Michelle for a little bit of research.Didn't stay long since George came and there wasn't any in my bag so headed to the nearest pharmacy.Yes,what a great timing.Did a little bit of retail therapy.
Plans for tomorrow:
1)Madrasah maybe.
2)To KKH to send Danish Irfan since he's checking in and sister-in-law is going to the airport to fetch eldest brother.
3)Complete homeworks.
Went to sister-in-law's multiply and read her posts regarding Irfan's problem. It was simply devastating.I wasn't even sure what's wrong with him until now.I knew that eldest brother had had the same problem but his wasn't that serious. No doubt, she had been strong all this while.I just hope and pray that the surgery will turn out well and smoothly.Insyaallah.
Taken from sis-in-law's multiply:
His results showed that he stop breathing for about 83 times in an hour. Hearing the words from the doc, scared and made me worried. Hubby also had d same prob, hearing dat hubby stop breathing for 22 times in an hour was bad enough and then Danish 83 times....issssh , i felt like crying..why? He's just an active young boy to me..Looking at him no one would have guess that he has trouble sleeping at nite ..Its clearer now dat his activeness was due to the interrupted sleep at nite....Doc explaind further what r d things that we could do....the only way is for him to used a CPAP machine..(continous positive airway pressure) or Bi-Level positive airway pressure. C-PAP is a machine that blows air into your nose via a nose mask, keeping the airway open and unobstructed.
He had to go thru another round of sleep study ..dis time inclusive of d CPAP titration... I dont think my dear Danish would like to sleep wif the CPAP machine....It is so intimidating for a child...But for his own good...we tried...Just for the technician to measure and fit him wif the mask took an hour...He struggled and cried...No choice but to hold on to him so dat the technician can do d fitting....Hospital called the company that supply d machine...n i made an appontment for them to come down for an instruction session in d use of the machine. After he left..hubby tried on himself...it feels just like a fan on at full blast blowing thru our nose...So uncomfortable for us too......
Tried to use it on him...when he's sound asleep at night but everytime i tried to put it on...he will sit up on bed fully awake....Tried for a few nites...In d end...i dont have d heart to force him....Made another appointment with d Prof at KKH....did another X-Ray...and d results showed that his airway is obstructed by d regrowth of d adenoids....he told me dat its rare for a child to do another surgery....but for his case..he had to go for another round of surgery....
D date is set...2nd Feb 09....i m sorry sayang...mama had no choice...its all for your own good...for you to have a good nite sleep every nite....not like now, it pain me to see d way you breathe while trying ur best to sleep....Hopefully after the op...u can sleep as soundly.....n i can sleep without any worries for u.......
What is Obstructive Sleep Apnea?
The most common kind of sleep apnea is called Obstructive Sleep Apnea Syndrome. It is characterized by repetitive episodes of upper airway obstruction that occur during sleep, usually associated with a reduction in blood oxygen saturation.
The risks of undiagnosed obstructive in children with sleep apnea include learning problems, developmental problems, behavior problems and in some cases, failure to grow, heart problems and high blood pressure. In addition, obstructive sleep apnea causes daytime sleepiness that can result in personality changes, lost productivity in school and interpersonal relationship problems. A child with sleep apnea may lag behind in many areas of development. The child may become frustrated and depressed. The severity of the symptoms may be mild, moderate or severe.
